Greg Alford, president of Alford Homes, believes it is a great time
to buy a home in the D/FW market

Alford Homes continues to see strong, steady sales.

The way sales have been going lately for luxury homebuilder Alford Homes, there’s little evidence of a sluggish market. In the past few months alone, Alford Homes sold six completed homes out of its inventory, several build-to-suit homes and has one contract pending. These architecturally significant estate homes, which range from $680K to $3.5 million, were sold in Prosper’s Gentle Creek Estates and Whispering Farms neighborhoods, Preston Hollow, Bluffview and Fairview.

“We’ve recently seen a very positive new home buying trend,” observes Greg Alford, president of Alford Homes. “Those who were unsure about making the commitment and were walking away from deals are now feeling much more confident and at ease. They’re not hesitating to sign the agreement to close because they realize that D/FW is a great market, and now is the best time to buy.”

An upward trend in a fast-selling market.

Collin County, where Alford Homes builds many of its properties, has seen upper-end home sales climb 5% over the past year; prices have continued to rise slowly yet steadily. This is a solid indicator that local homes are holding their value, compared to coastal markets where severe depreciation is rampant. “These markets are completely different, almost like apples to oranges” states Greg Alford.

Selling an existing home is no trouble in this market. Homes in the D/FW area typically sell in 80 days on average-second fastest in the entire nation. The market is one of the most affordable, which means buyers get more home for their money. Don’t let the curtailing of new construction by builders fool you. Once the backlog of ready-to-sell homes returns to normal, prices for new homes will rise and the D/FW housing market will most likely recover faster than the rest of the country.

According to Greg Alford, “Today’s very low interest rates translate to lower monthly payments on new homes. Once the economy improves, mortgage rates will rise. Add D/FW’s strong, diversified economy and fast-growing job market and it’s clear that now is still the best time to buy a home in the Metroplex, particularly in Collin County.”

Beyond the great Prosper location of Alford Homes’ Gentle Creek Estates and Whispering Farms neighborhoods, there’s another reason to not to wait. For a limited time, the developer of Gentle Creek Estates is offering a special rate on several choice lots that can be purchased directly through Alford Homes. These include some of the last remaining lots with golf course views. Three impressive completed Alford Homes are also for sale in Gentle Creek Estates: (addresses here). With its gated entry, golf course and golf membership with the purchase of a home, the community is an extraordinary value.

Other Alford homes and lots for sale are situated in such exclusive areas as the Park Cities, Preston Hollow and Bluffview Estates in Bluffview. Building will begin this fall in Normandy Estates in west Plano, a brand new community of select estate residences from $1 million+. Every distinctive Alford home focuses on extreme attention to architectural design, fine detail and energy efficiency. For the past two years, Alford Homes has received the D Home Best Builder award, and the Best Website award from the Dallas Home Builders Association.
